Curiocity ’23 Update
Nurturing Curious Minds: Building up the Spark
As we stepped into 2023, the momentum of Curiocity continued to grow.
With the help of generous contributions, Curiocity was able to donate scientific equipment to 10 government school science labs, providing students with the resources they need to experiment and learn. The lab equipment was procured based on the request list from the school. Witnessing the spark of curiosity ignited in the eyes of these young scientists is a testament to the power of education and the importance of fostering a love for science.
To engage students further, we created and announced a grand contest for the best science experiments across ten schools. The experiment was in 2 stages, first a ‘Curious Sparks Contest’ within the school for the Top 3 places and then the finalists come for a Mega Contest for the ‘Battle of the Science Winners’ on National Science Day.
The carnival-like event featured 40 projects, with evaluators selecting winners who demonstrated scientific curiosity. The Science Teachers from all the 10 schools were there and the top experiments from the school were on display. The judges went around and it was heartening to see alarm bells ringing, volcanos erupting, rotors propelling the rocket launch. It was a happy culmination with rewards to the students, teachers, principal and the schools for making ‘Science the DNA of every student’.
It was indeed a privilege that we could donate lab equipment to the following schools and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Science teachers and respective Head Masters’ in preparing the students to participate in the Science Expo 2023 and making the event a grand success. Special thanks to Science Teacher Rajanikanth for coordinating in selection of the listed schools, getting the required list for the science lab at each school and also during the procurement. We extend our thanks to the Science teacher Gajanan Nayak and staff of Vishweshwaraya school for supporting us in providing the venue and coordinating the event in their school premises.
Tie up with Schools: We selected 10 Govt High Schools, where there was great enthusiasm to encourage the spirit of science in students.
