Curiocity
Over 2.5M graduate out of India’s colleges every year.
They have to get great jobs, and contribute to the growth of the nation. Science is key for their future success. How do we spark their dream for Science? How do we kindle their curiosity?
They have to be exposed the great, interesting possibilities of Science. From the float of a feather to the lift of a rocket. From the mysteries of an atom to the magic of the universe.
How can students government schools get access to quality science ideas. How about daily experiments – do the have lab equipment in their schools?
How do you make them imagine?
How do you make them compete and thirst for science success in their lives? How do you make science so intrinsic part of their lives that they pursue that as their dream career?
Project Curiocity [we named it so as we wanted to first focus on our city, Bangalore] aims to engage with the Science Departments of Government Schools in Bangalore and spark such a dream.
Project Curiocity was conceived and executed by Divya Gopal with generous support from MyLittleBit, a Non-profit organisation. [www.mylittlebit.in]

Good evening everyone i would like to offer heartfelt thanks to our laboratory materials sponsor Mylittlebit.
Science class would be incomplete without science experiments and activities. Experiments offer exploratory mindset, to validate the results, approach the inference, provides hands-on experience and make science fun to learn. Makes conceptualisation of concepts easy and increases concentration.
Thank you for your generous effort and offer. I would like to thank entire team for this wonderful opportunity.
HM Yasmeen Parveen and entire staff.

KPS Varthur
On behalf of KPS Varthur, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of science equipment to our laboratory by sanmitra trust.
Your support plays a crucial role in enhancing our educational programs and providing our students with the tools they need to explore and understand scientific concepts effectively.
The equipment you provided has already began to make a significant impact. It has not only enriched our current curriculum but has also enabled us to undertake more advanced experiments and projects. Your contribution helps ensure that our students have access to high-quality resources, fostering a deeper interest in science and a greater potential for academic success.
We deeply appreciate your commitment to supporting education and advancing scientific inquiry. Please know that your generosity will have a lasting positive effect on our students and their learning experiences.
Thank you once again for your invaluable support.

Curiocity Project: Four Pillars
Tie up with Schools: We selected 10 Govt High Schools, where there was great enthusiasm to encourage the spirit of science in students.
“Science is simply the word we use to describe a method of organizing our curiosity.”
– Tim Minchin
1. Equipment for Science Labs:
Since the labs were not well equipped to conduct different experiments, we donated science kits to the labs in all the 10 schools. By providing science equipment to schools, we are taking the first step towards creating a practical way of teaching science, which will help in simplifying the learning process for the students.
2. Engaging with Teachers:
We understand the significance of a hands-on approach to learning, and this project aims to foster curiosity in science in children at an early age. We also reached out to Experient Science Labs, a pioneer in enhancing the scientific temper of students, who in turn delivered a workshop for the students and teachers. By providing the right tools, we hope to create a scientific ecosystem that encourages students to pursue STEM careers.
3. Curious Sparks Contest:
Finally, we launched the Curious Sparks Contest in all the 10 schools. The students were asked to create working models to demonstrate a scientific concept. It was heartening to see a range of amazing projects that the children had put on display. The experiments included all streams of science.
Experiments in Physics ranged from solar cooker, automatic lighting system, Chandrayan-1 working model, generation of electricity using potato, seismograph, vacuum cleaner, electric generator, making of a windmill, electric drone, electric lamp, emergency bell and more. The Chemistry Experiments included making of a vinegar volcano, lemon battery, structure of hydrocarbon and electrons, saltwater conductivity, rainwater harvesting, amongst others. The Biology models showed how the human heart functions, model of the brain, working off the human internal organs, structure of nephron, etc.
4. Celebrations on National Science Day
In ’22 the team had celebrated Science Day at Shishu Mandir by demonstrating novel science experiments to the entire school ranging from the effect of liquid nitrogen on solids, an AHA moment when a bottle rocketed up the air, gyroscope rotations, elephant toothpaste experiment, with the entire school of 300 students watching in awe.
This has now become an annual event with efforts throughout the year to build towards the contest.
On the National Science Day in 2023, we had our grand celebration to award the winners of the contest. The Science Teachers from all the 10 schools were there and the top experiments from the school were on display. The judges went around and it was heartening to see alarm bells ringing, volcanos erupting, rotors propelling the rocket launch. It was a happy culmination with rewards to the students, teachers, principal and the schools for making ‘Science the DNA of every student’. This was replicated in 2024 in a grand scale.
